My eyelids drift open slowly and my gaze falls across the empty pillow next to me. I don’t remember falling asleep last night, but I do recall I was wrapped in Caleb’s arms, warm and safe in a place I never imagined I’d be. Truth be told, I might have fantasized everything that happened last night if I wasn’t lying in his bed, naked and feeling the effects of all he did to me. The twinge between my legs is a small price to pay to be on the receiving end of such exquisite pleasure.

Naughty memories aside, I’m a bit disappointed to be waking up alone. The indentation of his head on the pillow next to me proves I didn’t dream this. And when I skim my palm over the sheets and find them still slightly warm, I can do nothing but lie here and grin.

I hear footsteps in the hall and a moment later my mouth falls open. He moves toward me looking mouthwatering in a pair of low-slung drawstring pajama bottoms. His bare torso is sculpted and broad and surprisingly tan in the light of day. What he hides beneath those crisp button-up shirts and tweed jackets is the body of a man who works hard to stay in shape.

I can’t stop staring. Or drooling. Or grinning all over myself. That gorgeous man right there … he belongs to me.

He strolls a bit closer, eyes vividly green and flashing humor as I continue to greedily look him over. A fine dusting of dark hair sits dead center in the middle of his chest, and a very happy trail skates from his belly button to the great beyond. His hair is wildly tousled and much too long to look scholarly, and the bit of scruff on his chin makes him look dangerous. Very, very dangerous.

“Good morning,” he drawls, reaching out to hand me a cup of coffee. His eyes scan over my face. I’m sure I look a sight with my bedhead and smeared mascara.

Tucking the sheet around my chest, I sit upright and lean against the headboard. Taking the cup from his outstretched hand, I grasp it between both hands. “Good morning. Thanks for the coffee.” Taking a sip, I sigh at the hearty goodness of the hot brew. “Been up long?”

“Long enough to make coffee. And watch you sleep.” Warm, green eyes find mine and he smiles.

My entire body comes alive with those few simple words, and I can feel my face heating in response. “What time is it?”

He takes a sip of his coffee and shrugs. “Not sure. Does it matter?”

This relaxed, happy man makes me smile. I love that he’s in no rush, no hurry, and content to simply enjoy our time together. “Not at all.”

Reaching over, he sets both of our cups on the nightstand then turns to me and slowly pulls the sheet aside, gathering me in his arms. “Last night was amazing. But now I want to make love to you like you deserve.
